The Turkish company Ekol Logistics is locating new operations in Sofia, Bulgaria as part of its expansion throughout Europe. The company has chosen Sofia Airport Center to establish its local business.
The Manager of Ekol for Bulgaria – Nikolay Stoyanov – has announced that the Bulgarian company will perform international and local transportation services for full and less container loads. It will also offer warehouse facilities for tariff and non-tariff cargo. “We plan to have 20 employees by the end of year two of Ekol’s activity in Bulgaria,” he added. According to the Bulgarian manager, the unit in the country could also offer intermodal services to and from other European countries. And during next year, the company is planning opening new offices in Plovdiv and Varna.
In 2013, Ekol was ranked 124th in the Fortune 500 List and 47th in the Largest Companies category, which lists the firms with the highest number of employees. Ekol also ranked 171st in Capital 500 and third in the logistics sector ranking.
